My summer lately

This is how my summer has been for the last 3 weeks...taken inside the car waiting for the storm to pass...
I think by the end of the week this cooler weather (24 ºC/75 F) is gone. Full sun and hot weather (36 ºC/97 F) is coming... and watering a lot too...

Do I remember correctly that you needed the rain? Wasn't last year dry and fiery?

I kinda like wet :)

Glad for you that you are getting much needed rain, but the weather is so messed up. Up here in the Netherlands we haven't had a drop of rain in 2 weeks, and it's not forecast to rain for further 2 weeks, and it's hot. Seeing as the soil in many places is sandy, plants are suffering from the drought already. Summers here are supposed to be cool and somewhat rainy, with the occasional hot day. It's the other way around this year...

The problem is that the jet stream is much further north than it should be, which has dragged the hot dry weather up into northern Europe, and brought rain to Spain and Portugal.

You've been having my weather!

It has been very hot and sunny here - we had our warmest day in Scotland last week - 33C.

It has rained on one day since May - many of my orchids are showing signs of scorching and heat damage. 18 hours of sunlight per day at this time of year and no clouds in the sky has cooked them.

I'm not complaining though - it is nice to have a spell of warm weather.

Hot here! The weather guesser is only right about temperatures. Lol we're going to get a "donkey tail" to forcast!

Yes, we were under a dry spell for more than a year but this spring was rainy, above the average...and it still haven't stopped. Now the soils have enough water content and everything seems to be fine, but...
Everybody here in Portugal, due to the catastrophic fires last year (more than 100 people killed and hundreds of houses destroyed), must have cleaned all the land from wild weeds and bushes (all combustible material) to prevent fire propagation but, with these rains a warm temps, everything have grown again so...let's see what happens this year.

I think we all have curiousity about each others home places.:)
Usually I post photos of my area in Spring but this year I failed...not enough oportunities. Maybe in Summer...:)

Is that an olive tree? Mine would love to leave their pot and be planted in the ground...until winter came.

These past two days, I am finally watering plants. We were getting sooo much rain but now it is hot and the rain has been skipping us.
