Well, I got sucked in by the Black Friday "bargains".
6 Phrags and added 1 Cattleya just so someone watching wouldn't think I had some kind of a problem.
Honestly, there are some good deals. Paid = or less than I would have at a society co-op table at a show for most of them. Even with the shipping.

My experience has been good with two Phrags from them. Bigger Cattleyas have been difficult to establish. I lost a large, healthy-looking Encyclia vespa this summer that went straight downhill. Small plants I've bought from them have almost all died quickly.

Well, my experiences have been great. They are one of my go-to favs.
Granted, it's usually at a show either off the table or as a pre-order. Fingers crossed!

I will just say this.
I am a big fan of this seller and I have purchased 20-40 plants over time. I will say, the closer you are to their shipping location in apopka has a TON to do with the health of the plants.
I get them the next day, I wager keysguy does as well, since they come from South America bare root, the longer they are to get to you the less healthy
Not much you can do to change your address but you can spend a ton on express shippping. That wipes out the value but your plants may be alive.
I have had them replace a plant that came in bad shape and they did so in great speed and with no issue
I recommend them

Hmm, in that case, has anyone in California (Norcal in particular) ordered from them recently? What was your experience?

I've bought plants from them at shows, at our local society and mail-ordered with 2 day (sic) delivery. I don't see a difference. Some don't make it. I'll buy from them again; the plants are very inexpensive, even averaging in the cost of the ones that don't make it.
Those with space - they have Anguloas on sale now. My Ang. clowesii from them is putting up buds. I grow it 6 feet / 2 meters in front of my evaporative cooler. It tolerates much warmer temperatures than you might expect from your reading if humidity is high and air flow good.

I'm in SoCal, and had a good experience in my last purchase. There have been some fungal spots here and there that required cutting the plants back a bit, but overall the plants are healthy and size-wise excellent value for the money. They will hit you with an extra fee in shipping to upgrade it to 2nd day with heat packs that you may be able to forego, but they will try hard to convince you. Right now, one of my Encyclias from them seem to have dropped all of its foliage and might have rotting bulbs, but I'll wait and see. All the other ones are good. All of them tested negative for the two common viruses.

Uh oh!!!!!!!!
Just got an email from Elizabeth Yanza their sales coordinator saying they will ship in late Feb due to weather???? I'm hoping they misread my order and got confused thinking I wanted them shipped to NH as that's what my billing address is but I double checked and definitely used my Keys address for shipping.
Responded with a note that she needed to re-check the requested shipping address and that it's 600 miles south of their facility in Apopka so what's wrong with the weather? Hopefully this gets straightened out but I know sometimes the language barrier gets in the way for both of us.
BTW........ I wonder why in the world they think it's OK to ship to NH the end of Feb??????? Other than that's when we used to have our show that they are a vendor at. They should know how cold and snowy it usually is.

They did not misread it. She sent me the same email and I live in California. Strangely, the weather heading into December is the same as in February. But she said I could still ship it if I upgrade to Fedex 2nd Day.
It seems like a general precaution to me due to the number of customers who leave bad reviews from injured plants, presumably from shipping. Even with my previous order in September, they came up with a reason to convince me to upgrade my shipping.

USPS has a pretty bad (well earned) reputation at this point. Some vendors (Tarzane Group for example) no longer even offers USPS as an option.
