I live near this vendor, I have never had problem with any of their plants, but then again I pick out my plants personally. This is usually my second choice of vendor within this area since there is another one with lower prices and a wide selection with excellent quality. But still Hausermann is quite excellent.

Jeremy,
May I ask the name of the other vendor for future reference?
I love the plants I've gotten so far from Hausermann's but I too repot as soon as I get home.

My first choice vender is Oak Hill Gardens. If you go on their website, it will show you everything like their online catalog and new offerings. This vendor is located in Dundee about half an hour drive on I90 from Woodfield Mall. This is a very excellent vendor.

Thanks! I'll have to check out the site today. I was up in the middle of the night last night and decided I should repot 3 orchids I recently acquired from Hausermann's. I usually repot everybody immediately, but I was going to wait until after these guys were done blooming. Something just told me to do it last night. GLAD I did. One catt was in mix that was so badly decomposed, it looked like potting soil once I got about an inch below the surface. The roots are pretty crummy now so I'm hoping this one won't croak on me.

I don't know why this makes me so happy but just knowing you were UP in the middle of the night, transplanting, fixing problems, makes me smile!!!
I love it.

Oakhill is one of the best vendors around!
You are lucky enough to be able to visit their place , while the rest of us are always very pleased with what we get from them...and how they're packed.
Everything is phenomenal from A-Z!

Wow, ok after lunch I'm checking out that website! And yes, I was up in the middle of the night repotting the chids. LOL! I'm crazy like that. I crashed when I got home from work, then had to get up around midnight to take the dogs out. After that, I knew I wouldn't fall asleep right away so what better to do than pamper the chids. Working on my orchids is therapeutic for me. I once decided the night before a major exam that I should take a study break and repot for a few hours. I still passed the exam with flying colors, so hey, it works!

Well folks, looks like I'll be planning a trip there Saturday! Seriously, orchids are like DRUGS for me! Instead of being the crazy cat lady, I'm going to be the crazy plant lady!
