I keep buying from canbyorchid. I think I've bought at least 30 plants from him, and they've all been great. And shipping is very reasonable, if you get multiples. I think one time the postage on the box was actually more than what I had paid him for the shipping! He's very knowledgeable, and has a lot of fairly rare plants for a reasonable price.

All the other vendors I've used have already been listed.

I just wanted to follow up with some of my buying experiences since my last post.

-Orchids Alive (username is terif1): Exceptional plants for the money. Fast friendly service. I'd buy from Terri over and over again. 2 of the blooming sized orchids were in spike within a couple weeks to a month after arrival. This is my favorite vendor.

-clown77777: I got numerous cattleya crosses/hybrids. They're a couple yeas off from blooming size, but all arrived healthy with good roots and took off like weeds immediately.

-bardavo-orchids: I got 2 healthy blooming sized plants. It was clear both had bloomed previously, and one bloomed just a month after arrival.

-orchiddude: Large healthy plants and fast shipping.

the problem with E-bay is having to wade through the multiple listings from "bad" vendors to get to the good ones who usually post infrequently. I've given up

Kawamotos Has great orchids for a good price I got 2 Blc. Waianae Leopards for 18 dollars shipped and i paid the same for shipping as you would on the mainland even though I am only 135 miles away on another Island. I did get some plants from Bill_Asia, all seedlings and they are dong fine but it took a LONG time to get them and they were very dry but after soaking in KLN they have perked up and are putting new roots out so I think they will make it. There is very few sellers that ship to Hawaii. for a non Ebay seller also try Tropical Orchid Farm at Tropical Orchid Farm they have some good prices on species orchids.

That's why you use the advanced search and exclude the "bad" sellers. I search for orchids species, and they very rarely show up.

Just recently got a couple of shipments from canby orchids and kawamoto and everything looked great and arrived quickly. I will be adding both to my 'buy from again' list! (When I'm allowed to buy again that is, apparently the boyfriend wasn't ecstatic about the 15+ plants that arrived today Oh and I finally got around to ordering from Exotic Orchids of Maui and was very pleased, especially with the bonus plant they threw in!

Canby orchids' owner is David Morris. He is one of accredited AOS judges in Oregon. His knowledge about Orchids is just incredible.

I love chiaki_ayumi . I bought 3 Vandas from her. They are so big, healthy and reasonably priced. If you like Vanda, she is the one although smileysorchids Vandas are so tempting. I wish I did not have to go through the bidding stage. Just visit and buy them.

I bought from smiley also, he was great. I bought a plant in spike, and when it faded before it was shipped, he sent a couple extra plants. I like orchidsalive too, but canbyorchids has some fairly rare plants for a reasonable price.

Here are the ones I've added to my favorite sellers because they have been wonderful to work with and have great plants:

autumnimports
bandbandmandt
canbyorchid
kawamotoorchids
nia22d
nkomplin
orchidgrove
orchidsman570
orchidtn
smileysorchids
theorchidgallery

I also had horrible issues with Bill_Asia and an overseas (Vietnam) seller.

Just add the sellers you like into your search to avoid "those other" sellers. :-)

Now I'm going to have to check out chiaki_ayumi. Careful with eBay - it's addictive! Right now I'm watching 12 plants and have no where to put them. Stop me!!!!
