Huge shout-out to Michael and Triton Orchids
I've ordered all sorts of orchids from Mr. Michael at Triton Orchids in Louisiana over the years, be it for my collection or gifts for other collectors. Every orchid I've ever received has been better than expected, never had any diseases or critters, major damage, anything. I placed a new order recently and he reached out and let me know they'd had a lot of damage from this last cold snap. A lot of sellers would have sent what they had anyway. Maybe trimmed off damage and tried to salvage it. Triton Orchids doesn't work that way. They are taking the time and effort to get in fresh healthy plants. That's a good upstanding honest thing to do and I just think that deserves a big old thank you. If y'all haven't purchased from him he's got a fabulous shop on Etsy. If you want something new but don't know what you want, his surprise boxes are absolutely fantastic. Always something unique (I've never gotten the same thing twice) and many times I've received plants with spikes! Great honest seller!

Hello OrchidLoverCA I'm not sure if you know this but you actually have to have at least 100 posts and be on the board for at least 6 months before posting negative reviews of orchid nurseries. This is to prevent spammers or competitors from posting bad reviews on such a concentration of orchid growers, I would recommend taking your negative posts down but we'll see what the mods think first.

Sorry, didn't know that. I thought I'd share my experiences such as they are. I posted positive and negative alike so that other users may use the info provided...
If the moderators think I did wrong I apologize and I'll refrain from now on.

I've only ordered one plant from Triton (I think, lol), Paph. Deena Nicol (paph. philippinense X paph. glanduliferum). I received this plant in October of last year and it bloomed for me starting early this month (March). It was a nice plant with lots of fans for a decent price, so no complaints from me.

Here's a neutral review of Triton with cons and pros: He took my order three weeks ago, didn't ship it until last Friday and when I opened it up, only one of the two plants I had ordered was included, and it was the 'filler' plant I added to get to the free shipping threshold. And a note saying the other plant would ship later. When I contacted him, he admitted he didn't actually have the other plant, and he would "have more of them in the future." That's the "con" section.
The "Pro" is the 'filler' plant looks healthy and is larger than expected, and upon contacting him he refunded me immediately for the big plant.
All things considered, I think he's just a bit disorganized, so caution may be warranted, but I would consider buying from him in the future.

I've had only one bad experience with Micheal, he made it right immediately, but otherwise, he is a great vendor who sells good healthy plants. I am now waiting for a shipment from him.

I agree to this. His shipping is at times slow. He does sometimes seem disorganized. He has not been in business for long, so I would forgive him this.

I have purchased a lot from Triton. I agree with the disorganized critique, I have received the wrong plant before. However, I don't know of another vendor more eager to make things right and more generous with the resolution.
The plants are always a great value, large and healthy for the price.
