I was hoping for some interesting markings out of this cross, so I was a little disappointed when it first bloomed, but the flowers have grown on me. At least they're unique and I like the heavy waxy texture. They have a really nice strong fragrance.

I love the waxiness of the blooms, they look brown in the photo? What were you hoping for? I guess that's the thing with hybrids is you'll never know what you are going to get.
The flowers are a greenish-brown. The photo is close to the actual color, but the waxyness made the brown stand out more.
I was hoping for either spotted or tessellated flowers. I've not seen this hybrid not have them before, though I have seen the plan waxy flowers in the Kultana Fragarance parent. I hope one day to run across a flask for sale of this cross. The variability of the flowers would make the wait of blooming them out worth it.
Seedlings make for a unique plant--provides that mystery until it actually blooms. If this were mine, it would be an acquired taste--I'm not into brown flowers. This would be an exception--colorful flower plus fragrance=keeper!
My preference is to buy non-mericloned seedlings. Especially ones that are highly variable. They're generally cheap and I like the mystery you mention.
