New set up for vandas a success! Male
Default New set up for vandas a success!

Most of my vandas failed to bloom this summer for some reason. I switched fertilizer and maybe that did not work out so well and I wasn't as diligent with watering. I miss the big blooms and striking colors so I decided to think of a new set up in my one bedroom apartment and saw the kitchen table that I don't use at all and decided to try a 250 watt HPS bulb. I also amped up the fertilizer and watering to give them a boost and the results did not disappoint!

There's another one blooming at the back that I can't take a good shot of and a Pachara Delight that bloomed ahead of everybody last month. I'm gonna try a higher wattage next time and lift it higher up to accommodate more plants. I also see a little bit of burn on one of the leaves but I'm not worried about it. I can't wait for the Euanthe sanderiana to bloom though... it's being stingy on me!
