Seeking seedling flask of Rhynchostylis Gigantea
Hi guys! I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get a mericlone seedling flask of rhynchostylis gig rattana seedlings from sent to the u.s. My mother received some as a present from a friend on her trip to Thailand and I was raising them well until I had to repot the media... Let's just say these guys are DEFINITELY NOT fans of repotting so in effect, I lost about half of her collection and would really like to replace it. They were the red rattans but truthfully, I'd like to supplement her collection with some new colors maybe spots or peach? She doesn't like Alba's so I wouldn't get her those. Any and all leads will be eternally appreciated! Many thanks in advance

Rhy gigantea is notorious for hating being repotted. I always carefully pluck old medium out from between the roots, leaving plants in baskets, and then repack with fresh medium.
Do NOT buy flasks from Thailand on Ebay. They come in with agar removed, and seedlings in a rotten tangled mess in the flask.
I have a few medium sized seedlings available (spotted, red & peach), but only 1-2 of each. If you want greater qty, you can get red from Carmela and spotted from Exotic Orchids.

Kim, you are AMAZING!!! Truly saved me from disaster! I thought since the seedlings were so robust that they could handle repotting (the old media was such a mess!) But nope! They slowly started to get sicker and sicker and now I have only half of what we started out with is Carmela a website to a distributor? Or is she a member here on OB?? Either way, thanks so much for the advice on eBay flasks, out of desperation I had considered bidding on a flask but something told me not to bother... Phwew! Dodged a bullet there! Also, is exotic orchids a user of the on, or a website I can order from online? Many many many thanks, you're a lifesaver!

I just receeived a 'Summer Mail Order' flyer from RF Orchids in FL (they have link on The Orchid Mall - Everything in Orchids). It included both seedling size & BS Rhy giganteas in several colors.
NOTE: Bob Fuchs has the best quality Vandaceous plants in the US, but he also charges premium prices. The summer mailorder prices are reasonable though.

Thank you again Kim, I've heard of Robert Fuchs and would def. Consider it a privilege to own any plant from their green house! Will def look into their website, also checked out Carmela orchids, but didn't seem to see any rhy flasks? Perhaps they don't have any right now... Thank you again for all your help, it is very appreciated!

Carmela has seedlings (abt 6" across) of Rgy gigantea 'red'. If you ask Sheldon, they might have some compots with multiple smaller sedlings.
Exotic offer spotted variety in 2" plastic pots. Those plants are usually 4"+ in size.
I have not seen any flasks offered by US sources.
