Is this rhynchorides blooming size?
I received my rhynchorides Bangkok sunset today from Seagrove Orchids. The plant was very well packaged., however it's a lot smaller than I thought. The website said it's blooming size but there is no old spike so it has not bloomed. It will be lovely if it is blooming size and stays in this size. It's so adorable! Does this orchid get Vanda care? Linda said it needs more water than Vanda, but it still needs to dry out between watering right?

Some sellers use BS very liberally. It can be:
a. Plant has bloomed before**.
b. Plant is same size as others that have bloomed.
c. Plant can bloom within 12 months/on next growth.
d. Any plant they wish to sell.
Personally, I use 'b', but there is still the possibility that the specific plant may need to get bigger to bloom. ** = many people prefer to get an unbloomed plant, as this ensure that the seller has not had a chance to select the best.
I do not have this cross, which is 25% Rhy coelestis, and 75% Aerides (2 different species). In general:
If this was a straight Rhy coelestis, it is more than large enough.
The Aerides species tend to need to be somewhat larger.
The Aeries hybrids tend to bloom smaller than species.
Overall, I think it is, or very close to being, BS; using definition 'b' - subject to individual plant variations.

It is large enough to bloom at that size. Once its settled it won't be long.
