Please help me with a rootless rescue Vanda

I got this Vanda from HD clearance rack. It was in a decorative ceramic packed pot with white jagged very rough rocks. It had two tiny little roots begining to emerge from where dropped leaves used to be.

When I took it out of rocks, its roots had solidified in a round configuration and were brown and hardened. But one root was slightly greenish towards the stem of the plant and it had two tiny little green nubs, I guess roots?
the leaves have wrinkle lines diwn them and look dehydrated.

How much of a chance of surviving and perhaps even flowering does it have?

I have faith that I can save it, but I ask you all for advice. What can I do to optimize its chances? Thank you in advance

Soak it in kelp or seaweed solution. A tbsp of kelp or seaweed to a gallon of water. Let it soak for an hour a day for three days then after that, do a twice a month application and roots should start appearing and will grow quite rapidly. Goodluck!

Super rescue mode activated!

I just top the things and throw em' in a terracotta. I water two or three times a week. Keep the temperatures on the cooler side and the light levels a little lower than normal.

I've thrown rootless top cuts on a bench under the hanging plants and they've rooted and flowered right there in less than a year.

Attached is a photo of a rescue I plopped in a terracotta less than a year ago.

Orchids are funny, the more people seem to fret and baby them the worse they seem to grow. It's like they have performance anxiety or something

my yellow mokara is growing nicely on water culture, its growing water roots. its started as a rootless cutting. i used rain water

Hi Thurrmax! Thank you, I will incorporate the water regimen also!

I've been spraying it with a spray bottle. But I think it needs more aggressive measures. When I watered it today lo and behold on the upper stem I spotted another tiny little green root beginning to appear!!! oh my gosh was I happy! So I am going to fully water it every so often from now on and until I see more signs of life.

I have hung it in a bright shade area with dappled sunlight from 2 to 4:30 pm.

It is very windy here these days and it has not rained much as we are still in the dry season until May or so, so I must water with tap water.

But I've put a pail out to catch whatever sporadic rain may fall this week Crossing my fingers too!

Not sure but I think I've seen something like 'Seaweed or kelp' in the vitamin section? Probably dreaming! ;D

They usually sell kelp or seaweed in garden centers im not sure about the one in the drug stores. You can find them online too.

I have a vanda in rough shape too and no new growing roots, but very brown shriveled ones. I purchased it a few months back cheaply in rough shape. Since I have gotten it, he has dropped 4 leaves and no new growth. I will put it outside as soon as I can but I am hoping it make it to spring. I have given it seaweed and super thrive in hopes to save it. It is a beautiful cross.... DrLego those are impressive results.

Hi LovePhals! I'm wishing lots of health for your Vanda!

I was reading the thread Vandas in glass and it sounds like a good idea, as they would have humidity on their roots. The only thing I would worry about would be the mold issue some people reported.

I do happen to have a huge glass jar and I was thinking about doing it....
