So, so pretty!

I've had terrible luck w/sarcos in the past but I am trying one more time. I got one from SVO this past spring and so far...well, I haven't killed it. It's not looking bad...just not looking great.

Any growing tips/hints you'd like to offer?

Here in Northern NJ. I grow my Sarcos mounted on cork with sphag. The best advice I got from a veteran Sarco grower and breeder was no winter rest which some culture sheets recommend. In the summer that can mean daily or 2x a day watering, but in the winter it about very 2 to 3 days depending on the humidity level.

I'm afraid I haven't much to add as I have only been growing them in the past few years. They grow well mounted or in freely draining potting mix but then they're native to my region of the world and it doesnt take a a lot of effort on my part to get them going especially the hardy hybrids. good luck with yours!

Chris

The local expert on Sarcs here is Scott Barrie who runs Barrita Orchids. Here is a blurb from 2012 which describes the way he cultures his Sarcs. He produces thousands of plants from his Kulnura nursery for sale across eastern Australia most springs. He uses horticultural wool (growool), perlite and styrene as a potting mix which doesn't break down.
