Default Pelatentheria insectiflera

I had never even heard of this genus before LauraN picked one up a few weeks ago...I was lucky enough to find one at Duncan's Flora yesterday, in bloom!

Very nice, Susanne. The plant almost looks like a species from the genus Trichoglottis. Is the flower fragrant? How big is the flower (and plant)?

Steve

Hi Steve

The bloom is about 3/4" vertically and about 1/2" from side to side. Here's a pic of the whole plant, it's about 7 inches tall with lots of crazy rambling roots. I'm looking for the perfect mount for it:

I love all of those crazy roots! Just be careful what you hang that plant near, Susanne. It looks like it would ruthlessly take over any other orchid's home with those roots. Better stick it near some of the vandas or aerides to make it a fair fight. :-)

LOL

I'm thinking a grapevine wreath would work well for this little guy. On a mission
