Took a quick measure of the first bloom today (not accurate ) and it's just under 4 inches across. The median size of the previously awarded plants is 11.6 cm so Patty is within the range and still has a few days before showing what she can really do 
Next, I'll have to see how the blooms shape up...

Well, right now, the blooms are not shaping up to be what I would consider worthy of an AOS ward. The weather's been really lousy for days and maybe they'll get better in the coming days but as of now, I don't think it's going to be judged.
On the other hand, My V David Gardner Za Inat is in the same situation. It has two spikes and is just starting to open the blooms today. Again, none of the previous awards were for a plant with two spikes...so keep those fingers crossed with me |

 I'll make my final decision in a few days, once I see if she perks up. In my eyes, an award is very special and although I would love to get one, I want to be realistic about it. If the bloom isn't perfect, I doubt if I'll be making the trip. If the second vanda, V David Gardner Za Inat, turns out to be worth the trip, I might bring Patty along for the ride
