In 2007, Susanne's plant was under a LOT of stress and the flowers reflected that. Today's bloom is a good example of what good culture (mermaid care) means to growing award-worthy to the vandae.

Susanne, are all the buds now open? You might make to July 22 by moving the plant to a shadier, cooler spot. Also, if you can do it, take measurements ... unfortunately, the AQ Plus record does not give measurements, or even a flower count for 'Alpha'. That HCC was 77 points. Whether it receives an award or not, it's always nice to see old hybrids making an appearance on the judging tables again.

When you move it, try to keep the plant oriented to the sun/light source in the same direction as it is now. That will help keep buds that are yet to open in the same plane as the other flowers.
