Default Is this a flower spike on my Neo?

Checking my Orchidarium this morning and starting misting when I spotted this. Could it be? I don't want to get my hopes up BUT could it be?

Any comments anyone? I am keeping my fingers crossed..

Sheridan

OMG!!! I can't believe it I actually did get a Neo to bloom.

Checking the tag the name is:
Neofinetia Falcata Higashi De Mijako The spelling on the tag is hard to read. Don't know what the color is so it will be a surprise. I purchased it from Asiatica Nursery on 9-25-08 and finally got it potted in a mound of moss. I took me three times to get it the way I wanted it. I would like to repot it again but I will wait. I am so excited now I have 4 orchids getting ready to bloom in the Orchidarium. Still have quite a few that just keep putting out new leaves and roots.
Will keep all posted as the flowers form.

Thanks Everyone - Sheridan

From what I found Higashi De Miyako is supposed to be white blooms. Whatever the color, I can't wait to see the pics of the blooms!
You are lucky to have been surprised by a spike. Of of my Neos started a spike in October which grew about 1cm, then stalled. It seems to (finally) be growing again, but very very very slowly.

Camille, I stand and look at the orchids in the orchidarium many times a day now I won't be able to do anything else. I wonder how much it will grow in one day

Is it normal to have more than one bud on a spike?

Yes, they have more than one bud per spike. Usually they have between 3 and 8 per spike I think. Have fun watching the orchidarium, just don't forget to eat and sleep sometimes!
