Vandopsis parishii
The flower of this species looks like that of some spotted phalaenopsis. The spike often appears in early spring and it takes more than 3 months to see their open flowers.
The flower is long-lasting, more than one month, but usually I cut off the spike before it fades.

Beautiful flowers, Pheli. Could you please take a photograph of the entire plant? Although I've heard of vandopsis, I've never gotten to see one firsthand, and the few photos I've been able to find in books always show the flowers but not the plant itself. Thanks for posting this one. Does it have a scent?

Steve and Karen, I will take a phto tomorrow.
The fragrance smells like that of pitaya, one kind of cactus fruit.

Here is a photo of the plant.
Compared with other vandas, it has fleshier leaves.

Thanks for posting the photo of your plant, Pheli. Could you give some cultural information for it, please--how much light it gets, how often do you water it, etc.?
