If you are not concerned with size, I'd say go for it. Not only is it relatively easy to bloom, it is a usually flowers right about Christmas time. Fragrance is wonderful. It will tolerate a fairly wide range of light levels. I grow mine along with my Phals.

I would buy one also. Ang. sesquipedale is not one of the biggest Angraecums by any means particularly in comparison with eburneum or the hybrid Veitchii. The are quick growers and huge to boot.

No rest period is required that I know of. I certainly do not give the one I have any rest period and it reliably blooms every December. I forgot to mention, an added bonus, the flowers are very fragrant. Also, it can be grown either potted or mounted.

I grew grew Lemforde White Beauty for a number of years. This hybrid will often have flowers slightly larger than either of the parents and the substance makes one think that the flowers were carved out of wax which is typical of this genus (except no wax EVER had a fragrance like these flowers). Personally, I prefer either of the parents over this hybrid, but that is just a matter of personal taste. Also, the hybrid I had never bloomed at Christmas time.

I am so sorry! I didn't really answer your question. No, I grew it just as I do Angcm. susquipedale. If you grow Phals OK you should have no problem with this hybrid.

Couple things to consider.

They like it warm, and moist. Dont let them dry out considerably. Best not to no drop below 60 deg F. They dont like their roots disturbed. Take care when repotting or they can sulk.

I got mine as a seedling several years ago, and really thought it would have bloomed this past winter, but no such luck. Hopefully next year.

Unless you get a bigger one, you will have to wait quite some time (years) for a smaller seedling to reach blooming size.

I thought I might pop in a pic of my Ang eburneum which grows reasonably well for me with a min of 50 deg F on many nights through winter. Along side it to the right is Aerides lawrenceae V. Sanderianum. Ang sesquipedale is to the right of those plants but hard to see. The growing conditions aren't good enough for Phallys but is certainly good enough for Angraecums, Paphs Vanda family, aerides etc.
