The Spectacular Aerides family
And can someone explain to me why these pictures are disoriented and how I can rotate them?
Anyway......left to right; lawrenceaea, odorata and quin in spike.
This is second bloom for the quin. Last year the flowers were not exhibiting the classic 5 wound marks so hoping they'll show up as the plant matures.
I also have a large houlettiana that hasn't bloomed in several years. They are all grown in the same spot so not sure what's going on. It's an extremely vigorous, healthy plant but not blooming like the others.

To see them is one thing but to smell them just puts them over the top.

OB software is old and many newer phones appear not to include orientation data with photos.
On your device open the photo in an image editor. The Windows Photo Viewer is adequate for this task. Rotate to any orientation and save. Now open again. Rotate to the correct orientation and save. It should upload to OB properly.

seca- they are correctly oriented on my phone.
In addition to that, I run them thru Faststone and thats the file I pull to post. They are correctly oriented in Faststone as well. I have never had this issue until my last 2 posts with pictures.

Beautiful blooms I cant wait for mine to start blooming.
Roughly how old, or large do the plants need to be before flowering?
I bought a tiny Aerides leena, probably not much older than out of flask about a year ago. Its tripled in size since then and is growing really well in a pot.

Diane- I got that quin in May of 2019. I'm guessing it was maybe 3 years old. First bloom last year and now I have 3 spikes. They seem to flower fairly young and grow rapidly if you can give them the right conditions.

Thanks Keysguy.
Well my plant is definitely living up to the growing rapidly part, I guess I am giving it something of what it needs. Its now in an 80ml Reko pot with extra holes.
While taking the photos just now I noticed a new growth, any idea what it is?

A new root. They throw them out everywhere. Flower spikes emanate from way down in the crotch of the leaf. You won't even know they are there until they're a couple inches long and can emerge over the edge of the leaf.
