Renanthera Kalsom root problems

I got my Renanthera Kalsom 'Red Dragon' about 6 months ago at a show and was so happy. These plants have beautiful red flowers and my growing conditions should be really good for it. When I got it home and decided to unpot it to grow it bare rooted I was shocked to find all of its roots had dried up completely. Perhaps the travel from the Japanese grower to the show in south Florida was just too hard on it.

I used KLN once a week until my supply finished in March and since then use a seaweed product. Several months ago it finally grew 1 root. It is now between 1.5 to 2 inches in length. No other new roots The leaves have continually showed signs that they want more water and now several have begun to brown. I'm not sure what else to do to help it.
