Here's an update.
One flower is now colored purple, so it's about to open up.
I have to revise the name of the plant as it is incorrect.
This is a sib cross of (Shutennou x Koto).

I think the flowering power of Shutennou came through on this particular plant.
I have another one of the same cross (sibbing) but that one has been quiet for the last two years.
It looks like it is spiking, but it is too early to tell now.
It might just be another new fan, which it has at least three of.
So it's quite variable I'd say.
On another note, my largest neo, the wild white form, that threw six spikes last summer only gave me one spike this June. It is making another spike at the moment, but I guess I might have shocked it by transplanting. The roots are not growing either, which worries me a bit.
Oh, well...
I am happy with these pink varieties now. and I have acquired two different bean leaf neos, so they are also attention grabber. so not too sad.

I recommend buying neo Shutennou.
It is very popular yet very common and easy to grow and flower. You will feel like a champion! hahaha
Google up some images of neo shutennou and you will be pleasantly surprised to see what they can do when they get old and big.
