this has grown quite a bit this year. 3 fans and 5 sets of flowers, some of them have not opened all the way. I still can not smell anything:( but beautiful just the same.

Thank you Sonya and Shannon. I have had this plant for about 3 years now. I am very happy with the growth but sad it has no smell.

Mine hasn't been fragrant until this year. I was growing it in the window and I think it was just too cool (or dim) to be fragrant. Now, under the lights, I am getting fragrance. I almost gave this away because of the lack of fragrance. :|
Mine is also the 'Blue Bird' clone so yours should have the potential for fragrance, too.

Well done!!

Mine has an amazing fragrance and very strong too. When it bloomed last it was outside and I could smell long before I saw it...from several feet away. It's in spike now (3 spikes!)...if it's as fragrant as it was this summer I imagine it'll knock me over when I come in the house. In a good way, of course.

Two questions for you, Katrina. Is yours a 'Blue Bird'? When is it most fragrant?
Mine is fragrant but definitely not to the extent that Katrina's is. I need to get up close and smell it. Still, it is better than the past when there was no scent at all. They are all clones so they should have the same potential for fragrance. How frustrating!
I am not having luck with the brassavola nodosa being fragrant either and just bought a second one.
I wonder if it is something in my culture that is causing this. I have made inquiries in the past but to no avail.
At least the phal bellina makes up for it.

Yep...Blue Bird and if my memory serves me, it was fragrant all afternoon. I think it was the heat of the day that caused it to intensify and then it would lessen toward evening. Very strong but very nice.

We'll see if it has the same intensity under lights.
