New auction on eBay, ending Tuesday, 07/23/13. Seed Engei is providing more photos with a black background instead of that blue (lawn chair?) background . They have close ups of flowers and even the small growths mentioned in the description.

This list of seven plants include one Phalaenopsis amabilis, and six Neos. Three of these plants are starting out at $99: MANJUSHAGE 曼珠沙華, RAIKOUMARU 雷紅丸, and KOUKAKUDEN-紅嚇殿. From these plants' description, they are either highly desired (like the MANJUSHAGE), popular in Japan--therefore should be popular here(!), and have unusual flowers and desirable roots or leaves. There are less expensive plants and their accompanying photos are lovely. In past auctions, other Manjushage plants have gone for over $145, I wonder how these three will fare?

I noticed ebay tweaked their interface for enlarged views of images too. Ooh, and Manjushage has a 3rd spike just starting. That's a good thing, since the blooms you see now will be on the way out by the time the plant reaches its new home.

Hmm, I see on the spike with a single bud, one of the spurs is full length, but the other 2 are still very short. Is that normal, will the other 2 spurs elongate before the flower opens?

I see that Orchids Limited also has Neos posted. This is the first time I have seen them on eBay. This will give us even more options to go broke

Oh wow, we're all in big trouble now! Financial ruin straight ahead.

Ginger, I did not connect that those four Neofinetia where from Orchids Unlimited--duh! I am surprised that they are not as detailed as Seed Engei. Their website is so much more detailed than their eBay listing. i think Seed Engei beats everyone hands down on their website.

Glen Lehr is heading to England, he just sent me an invitation to like New World Orchids on Facebook. He is so un-technical and I hope he stays that way! On the other hand, if he reorganizes his website, I hope he hires a really good technician to do his web commerce--hint hint, Jayfar.

Naw, way outside my core competencies. I can restart apache when it hangs and make config file changes, but complex web scripting and all that is not my thang.

What if you could trade services for free plants!?

I sure would if I could, but alas, I don't think anyone needs an ICU nurse at the moment...

At one time in my career, I had an opportunity to transfer to Boulder, CO. Instead I chose Fort Wayne--go figure. But here in Fort Wayne, all of the hospitals around are constantly advertising for any certified RN's. Think about it...Joyorchid...long unbroken views of corn and soybean fields! <S>

Jayfar, I'm thinking about learning web design. We have web designers around my office who are like what programming developers used to be--techno wizards! What they say goes, and they design on their schedule and for lots of $$. You do such a great job using the Internet to find information, it just takes a couple of more steps before wham! You are a demi-god!
