Then again the 3 growth in-bud one in their online catalog for 150 is pretty nice too. Decisions, decisions...
Oh, the catalog in-bud photo was taken June 19th, so that's probably all bloomed out.

Nishidemiyako is one of my favorites!!! I got a three growth Nishidemiyako from Satomi for $30, I love it and it's in spike!

WOW, that is a beautiful flower and plant rangiku "adrienne". There are a lot of fantastically skilled photographers on this board! Are these plants fragrant? I notice your plant is potted in a bonzai pot? Is that how these plants are presented?

I see it in your flickr photostream from right after the SEPOS show and it's a beaut. Amazing that you got it at that price. I didn't do too bad myself there, but I can't remember the price of any individual plants, just that I bought 3 Neos and a Sedirea japonica for a total a bit over 110 I think.

Are the moniliformes scented?
I've wanted one for a while but I kill Dens.

I see it now, Jay. It's adorable. Love the purple picotee around the flower.

Thanks, I'll be thrilled with it if I actually manage to bloom it by next summer. From the sample photo, the flowers appear to be bigger than the plant.
I hadn't really considered Dendros until now, but I may have to look into these too.

True, but as the druggies say, the first hit is free (or in this case just really cheap). I ran the sum function on my Neo spreadsheet and as of today I've spent just short of 1500 on 19 Neos total, beginning with those three back in April. That figure is skewed a bit by Mr. Maizuru. Of course it helped that I was doing 12 hours a week of mandatory overtime at work, but that gravy train just ended; my team is now fully staffed again and I'm back to a 40 hour week. So a 500/month Neo addiction isn't sustainable long-term.
Now, where can I find a Kinkirin.

Don't worry. Your desire to buy more will eventually taper off. Why? Because during some Spring season in the future, you will look at your 60 + neos that need to be remounded.....then you will not be so inclined to keep buying.

Yep, I'm already ahead of you on that thought. Was just thinking about how long it will take me to do decent remounds of these all next spring and how much high quality AAAAA sphag strands I'll need.
My object this summer is to get some decent growth on these babies before I give them their cool, dry winter rest, so I did want to accumulate a nice range of Neos while there's still a couple months of good growing ahead. I think starting this past spring was ideal for me, since I got to see a bunch of these actually spike and bloom.
The tentative plan for November is to put them in 2 little Ikea mini greenhouses in front of a southern window, which I will leave cracked open to keep them a little chilled. That way I can hopefully keep the humidity up sufficiently.

Yes, they are. Flowers last for about 2 weeks.
