No, I haven't bid. Yet. Remember, I only bid in the final seconds. The one you snapped up last time is an exceptional plant and was a great buy at 200, but I'm not sure about this one.

Edit to add: On closer examination, I see that the current high bidder is apparently the person who was competing against Ginger for the previous Fuji-nishiki.

Took a last minute stab at the Fuji-nishiki with a max bid of 250. Didn't win it (thankfully), but made someone else pay too much. Late bids below include automatic bids. The winner wasn't one of the 2 earlier bidders and also took at least the Fugaku and the Higashidemiyako.

I tried bidding on the Fugaku but it went above my limit too soon. The Higashidemiyako was a lovely plant too. So the same person won these two aforementioned plants and the Fuji-Nishiki? Congratulations to that person. I wish they were a member or regular contributor on this forum so we can congratulate her or him properly.

This was truly fun to watch tonight. There were some lovely plants offered. I bid on and won the Amanogawa I gave mine to my daughter and this one was exceptional.

Jay that last minute bidding of yours cost my plenty on the last Fuji-shiki it went from $177 to $200 thanks to your bid. You are a force at these auctions. We all pay too much at these eBay auctions but it is fun

Less than 2 months for the Pacific Orchid Expo. SE will be there. Saving my pennies for then.

No, I actually never placed any bids at all on yours. I refrained from bidding once I determined you were bidding, although I have to admit my evil side considered placing a bullet-proof bid anyway.

It appears t***t ( 25 ) triggered your max bid, but up to that point it was, except for one bidder who dropped out at $42, all between you and c***o ( 346 ). My current feedback score is 20, so if you see a bidder with that score, it could be me.

Jayfar, "bullet-proof" = a bid so high that no one else bidding could afford? I learn a lot from you. Your wait to the very last seconds to bid has really improved my ability to win auctions.

Yep, like put in a 500 max bid and pray it doesn't go nearly that high.

I did that for the Seiou-nishiki back in October and got it for 82.99. I think my max bid was 200 for that one.

This is good advice that I agree with--I play bridge, one of the things we say to each other is "no guts, no glory". Bidding on plants is like that Jayfar. If I really want a plant I'll bid as high as I can realistically afford to buy, and I usually get what I want. Of late, however, there hasn't been a plant offered that I really wanted. So when I bid, it is no great loss if someone else wins it.
