How dry is a dry rest for neos?? Female
Default How dry is a dry rest for neos??

It's Halloween and I'm giving my neos their last good drink until Valentine's Day. Last year I treated my collection to the same amount of water as they received the rest of the year--but somewhere I read that they bloom better with a dry, rest during the winter months. So my question is how dry is dry? Do I just want to keep the leaves from shriveling or do I want to keep watering once a week and just cut the water in half? Or do I want to water every two weeks??

My collection is not huge, so almost anybody is more experienced and I appreciate whatever help you can give. TIA!!

You know I would have to say it really depends on what your temperatures are during the winter. That my help get more answers from the Neo growers!

Hi again, I also wanted to point you in the direction of a thread that might help you a little. Again like I said before it might help to know what your temps are during the winter. Usually a dry rest or a drier rest, is accompanied by cooler temps. Here is a link to the thread: Growing Neofinetia falcata in winter months
