That is amazing ! I have two plants in spike(a smaller from seedling plant and a really big one) and I must also archive it for posterity sake...I beleive our plants is the Darwinian flower...that everyone laughed at him because he said only a moth that has a footlong proboscis can pollinate it(they found the moth 25 yrs later)...its also called the Star of Bethlehem because it opens its blooms around Christmas time...and its all coming to be true

My sesquipedale has 3 spikes at the moment. I'm sooo excited. Last year it bloomed with 2 flowers in 1 spike this year one spike has 2 buds and the other ones are still developing.

I got hold of some hybrids of Ang. sesquipedale and one of its varieties, 'bosseri', which is a much smaller plant. The result is a smaller plant with the same huge blossoms. They're all in bud now too, but not that far along.

Cool! Im really excited to see this one in person! they say the flower can be 8-10 inches across!!! I dont think mine will get that big, i hope so though!
The spur is just amazing to watch progress right! the spur is now almost down to the bottom of the pot I will need to set the pot Atop something because the spur is on a collision course with the top of my dresser! its going to be beyond 12 inches i think

I am so jealous. I can't wait to see the bloom. I had a sesquipedale var. Bosseri last year, bug it died shortly after the bud opened. I called the person I bought it from to see if she had anymore, but she was out. A couple of days later I received a package at my door. I was surprised to find a sesquipedale in bud. I was so happy. The spike is not ready to bloom anytime soon, but there are three buds. I'll post pictures later in another thread. I'll include a link here. Again, I am so jealous of your bloom. My bloom never got that big or long. Is there any way you could post a picture of the plant itself? I would love to see how big it is.

Cattttleya 17 that is great. I have a seedling from Oak Hill that is growing… yet slowly.
What is your setup? How can you keep 61 % humidity at 77 F? I grow mostly on my bedroom's window. now 56% RH and 72 F with humidifier on.
