Initial plan for new terrarium

I agree, I don't think I'll have much room for other plants in between the orchids. Most of the orchids I chose are micro-mini orchids (potentially only exception being the gastrochilus and dyakia)

Bjmac: do you know the fc output of the jungle dawn lights?
If anyone has any other suggestioms, please share. I will definitely contribute by making a detailed setup post here.

I don't know the fc of the lights, but they seem to be putting enough out to burn a few leaves at the top of the tank. I also have them over my neofinetia tank and the neo are showing good color and are blooming. There is only going to be room for one hood on your tank, but that should be plenty of light for your plants.

One more item about fertilizing. I have only fertilized my tank twice in two years and this will help keep your plants small. I would have thought that they needed more, but the plants seem to be doing fine.

I had the Jungle Dawn output data but can’t find it in my email search. I recently purchased a light from Custom LED lights for Vivariums, Terrariums and Aquariums – Spectral Designs. Kurt is great to deal with. I have also started cutting cork tubes and planting in them at staggered heights...I believe Pattywack mentioned this as well

bjmac, thanks so much. I just realized that your terrarium is the setup that was recently posted in this section of the forum. Your terrarium is very impressive. Is this your first terrarium?

This is my second terrarium. I had a 18x18x24, but it did not fit in our RV. So I removed all the orchids and some of the plants and down size to this one. The plants are about four year old between the two tanks. I did some different improvements on the second one to keep the weight down. I can move it by myself as it has to go to the floor when we travel. This summer we are selling our home and going RVing full time. This will be the only flower gardens we have.
