Phalaenopsis equestris
By now, some of you know that I'm a Phal Phreak. In the almost 40 years I've been growing orchids, Phals have always been my favorites. Phal equestris is among my favorite species, and in my small collection I have 8 or 9. Three seedlings I've grown from teeny nubs have erupted in bloom.
The alba has just opened the first flowers today.
The other two been flowering for a couple of weeks.

They're beautiful! I bet it's very rewarding to see them grow and bloom from those teeny nubs. That tells me they're very happy in your care!

Wow! The alba reminds me of a fleur-de-Lys heraldic figure.

So pretty. I love my equestris also. Well I have 2 of them but my orange one is barely hanging on. It has made 2 new leaves that look good so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I don't have either of these colors. So you have a blue one also? The orange ones blooms are a much different shape.

The second spike on the plant on the right is now also in bloom. The plant on the left started a second spike but it's turned into a keiki. These seedlings have really, really impressed me! A second white is about to bloom and a blue form is budding. The sixth seedling, for whatever reason, is growing and healthy but with no signs of a spike - maybe it'll need another year.
