Default Phal stuartiana var nobilis

Here is a little guy I ordered in March. Plant is still quite small but put out one nice flower with a fair amount of green in it compared to my other stuartianas. Thanks for looking.

Hello, Brenda!
Did you get this little beauty from Crystal Star? I bought one that looks the same at the Montreal show. I had no idea phals could bloom while that small! Gives a new whole meaning to "blooming size" lol
That one will look amazing when bigger with loaded spikes
Do your leaves have the mottled pattern? Mine are sadly a uniform dark green.

Hi Melanie,

Good to hear from you. I got this one from Ten Shin, although, I also got one from Crystal Star, one can never have too many stuartianas can we? The leaves are somewhat mottled, but not as much as I have seen.

Hey nice nobilis Brenda. I also have one from Ten Shin, but still waiting for it to grow up...it's taking a long time to establish it seems, thought it is growing lots of roots. Btw, the corningiana is growing a new leaf!!! My ambo also flowered. I will get some pictures in the next few days.

Aww, it's a cutie!

I have a baby var nobilis at home now too, but it should be about two years from blooming size, so I won't see anything like what yours is doing, for a loooong time.

Very nice!!! var nobilis is on my wishlist since a few months ago. A bit more expensive, but looks worth it.

Try raising the light levels. I have noticed on my mottled Phals that the amount of light has a huge effect on the intensity of the mottling. But from what I've noticed it will not change the old leaves, only the new ones that are growing.

I don't think it'll help with this guy. If I've understood it correctly, the nobilis don't have the spotted foliage as the other variants of P. stuartiana do. Mine doesn't have any spots either.
