Default Some Phal species that's on their way...

After being bitten by the horrible orchid bug I discovered the big difference between Phalaenopsis species (I hope I use the right terminology), hybrids and those Noids you find at the local supermarket.

This led to me ordering Phalaenopsis stuartiana, Phal. stuartiana var. nobilis and Phal. equestris var. coerulea from Germany. Also, I've bought a Phal. schilleriana, Phal. equestris aurea, Phal. equestris rosea as well as three other equestris varieties from members of the Swedish orchid forum I'm also a member of. This has made a big dent in my wallet but also made a big increase of the number of phals I'll be proud owner of.

The six phals from the forum members will be shipped to me tomorrow and they should arrive at Tuesday!

I'm beside myself with happiness!

There will be photos added later.

Congratulations on the new orchids! Now don't look at any web-sites for a while. They are designed to make you want to buy more. Good luck with your new plants.

Oh trust me, there will be no more orchids for a while now! The only one I'm allowed to buy is Phal equestris 'Orange'.

Thank you! I hope they're as easy as the Noids but I'm prepared for almost anything.

Oh, it has bitten hard alright. Since I joined the Swedish orchid forum, my humble collection of phals has gone from nine to 21 (when all my ordered phals have arrived that is)!
Those German nurseries are bad, really bad for my economy...

Another one bites the dust!
I think since orchids are losing there natural habitats, they've latched on to us humans in their next step of evolution.

billc: I think you're on to something there.

Yay! Three of my species Phals arrived today! *doing a mad dance of joy*

It's the cutest, tiniest equestris trio that's now standing on my work bench in the kitchen. I had totally forgotten about equestris being minis so I was rather surprised when I went to pick up the package 'cause it was so small. The fact that the trio are young plants doesn't make them any larger. Two of them are spiking though and I hope these spikes will make it through the whole shipping ordeal.

Look at them, aren't they just adorable?

They look happy and healthy Even mature equestris are quite small compared to most other Phals.

So now you are waiting for 2 more packages?

Yeah, somehow that fact slipped my mind. I have to restrain myself from cuddle them since I find them so cute. They're orchids and not cats for crying out loud.

They appear to be in very good shape all three of them and I'm already calling them nicknames.

Yup, two more packages of which one should arrive tomorrow. The orchids from Germany have not been shipped yet due to the cold weather (but apparently I nicked the last Phal. stuartiana ) so I don't know when to expect them.
