Ok thanks. I had contacted him recently looking for either hainanensis and honghenensis, and neither were available. I'll keep looking!

I saw one in bloom at Orchids Ltd. on the not-for-sale wall. They didn't have any for sale as I too am looking for one available in the U.S.

I just found the (believed to be) last plant labeled as P hainanensis at Al's today. I was able to purchase it. I will wait and see what it blooms to be, hopefully next year ;) I noticed that my mount has 3 separate plants mounted on it. So I have 3 chances to have an actual P hainanensis! hehe!

Great find. It must have taken hours.

Wait, so you actually physically went down there and looked for one? How cool!!!
Hey let me know how yours blooms out. I would like to compare the two.

I was going to comment that I love these little Phal species, but don't think they would like my growing conditions - then I read that you grow it cool-intermediate ... hmmm :hmm might not be so unhappy with me afterall - of course I would have to find one ...

:wavingThey are doing fantastic! New roots growing all over the mount, new leaves on each plant, and I believe the one has a basal keiki! Kind of small and hard to see. It is on a piece of cork and seems to love it. Speaking of P. gigantea, how is yours?? My gig is growing a new leaf, much faster than it's done in the past. Maybe one day I will bloom it!!
