Its too early to tell what that new growth could be, but your plant looks VERY healthy!! This one is definitely blooming size. How hard of a winter rest do you give it? Also, how much seasonal variability are giving this one with regards to light? These guys are well adapted to VERY hard winter rest, even more so than walkeriana.
