Bought one of these from Andys myself last month. It came with 4 long inflorescence's and no buds that I can detect - but the inflorescence's seem alive. I am fascinated about how this thing will grow.
I am curious how this thing will grow. It is quite a cool set of flowers you've posted

Buds will develop from the nodes on the spike, rather than a cluster of buds at the tip as many orchids do.
I bet yours will look fabulous!

hoooray!!! my distincta spike stopped and died back randomly sooo... yeah.. haha it sucked.. i think the wet and cold got to it..

I love this little guy! Mine is in bloom right now too. I just got a blue ribbon for it at the Deep Cut Orchid Society Show (NJ). My first blue ribbon ever!.
