I have bought many quality orchids from hausermann's, they were very beautiful and healthy and I have always been pleased. Their buds and spikes are spectacular, you won't be disappointed. They have a very large Green house and varieties and species too numerous to list even on their online site. Also, their prices are very reasonable, check out the on sale plants, you can really get a great deal.

Yes, I agree... I just bought some orchids from them recently... And they are beautiful, very healthy plants!!

I love Hausermann's! They always have sent me very healthy orchids. Much of my collection has come from there.

Reading all these positive reviews for this vendor, I was so impressed I ordered 5 orchids.
C. Jose Marti 'mothers favorite',Lc Betty Ford 'York', Irrne Finney 'springs best' (sale plant), Pot. Afternoon Delight(sale) and Blc Greenwich 'Elmhurst'.

I got very healthy looking plants and now I see how big normal size Cattleya are. Price was very reasonable to the size I got. However, 3 had poor roots and required extensive trimming.
Initially, I got a different orchid in place of Greenwich. I called the shop and person on other side was very nice and courteous and told me I will get Greenwich next week which I did. Arrived without a tag though and I am posting picture of it's roots here. I had 2 others with similar roots. Wondering if Florida heat caused them to rot. They were in a mix that would be bad for the orchids in our weather but probably perfect for northern states. May be bare root is better for shipping to Florida?
I potted them in a real chunky mix and hope they do well since we still have some warm days left here. I did not call them for return, just too much work for me.They were nice enough not to charge for the wrong orchid and Greenwich was bigger in size than I paid for which made me feel more hopeful about its recovery.

Update- all are growing roots now and one is developing buds in the sheath it arrived with.

I am impressed now. Plants still have a way to go but doing better than I expected.

I will buy from them again but, I have to be very mindful of the space since it seems most of their Cattleyas are big.

Plumania glad to read your orchids are doing well and that you are pleased with Hausermanns enough to order from them again. You briefly touched upon something I have been concerned with--buying plants from vendors NOT in my geography or weather conditions. This is anecdotal but I have found that if I buy orchids from your state or from the southeast USA, those plants seem to take some time to acclimate to my home's environment. But plants I have bought from Hausermanns or any vendor in the upper Midwest, seem to acclimate much faster.

What clued me in that this was going on, was that I bought two Masdevallia--one grown in Michigan and another grown in Georgia. They are both basically the same plant except one was red and the other was orange. They both arrived the same time. Both in bud. The one from Michigan completely bloomed out, but the one from Georgia, blasted most of its blooms. It did bloom out what buds survived--six of them, but the ones that survived and bloomed were still developing. The blasted buds were just a week or less from blooming.

I have noticed that, too, Matt. If you order orchids/plants from warmer climates, order them in the early part of summer to give them time to adjust or grow them in a warm room under lights for the first seasons.

Leaf mite, I did not think of the seasons. Yes, I agree that plants grow better, regardless of where they come from, when they have a season of summer to adapt--they are healthier in the long run. But, that kind of puts a damper on acquiring plants like Masdevallia that are now in bloom.

I appreciate your adding to my understanding of orchids. You really have to consider not only will a plant be compatible to what you live in, but the season of the year in which they arrive. Thank you.
