Since orchids don't like being fussed with I am guessing it's better to pot up and leave roots that are adjusting and rot out is this correct? Or should you unpot, cut and repot?
If your plant had a huge, healthy root system going into S/h, you might have to clean them out after they die, but for most plants, it's just not worth doing.
Thank you Ray, it had a larger root mass not extremely healthy to start but it's looking fairly dark now so maybe I should pull it and clean it up..not the best pics but what I'm referring to
Well... that one falls in the unpot and clean them out category for me, but I would let the plant get a good replacement root system established, unpot it, swish the root mass around in a bucket of tepid water to flush dead roots and rocks out, then repot into fresh material - once only.
