Does First Rays still sell prime agra LECA?
I watched the incredibly informative and helpful webinar on the AOS website about Semi Hydro. Thank you Ray for your wonderful webinar! This is already confirming my thoughts on wicking my African Violets, and has helped me decide on a lower maintenance solution for watering my orchids I looked for the Prima Agra LECA on First Rays website but I couldn't find it, is that product still for sale?

Best to ask Ray directly at the FirstRays website. There is a link for asking questions in the first paragraph on the home page.

Ray has mentioned before he is getting out of the S/H supply part of his business. I found a local LECA - "Mother Earth Hydroton" that I compared side-by-side with Prime Agra and found it had identical wicking properties. Your growing conditions will be much more vital to success with S/H than which brand of LECA you use.

That is correct, on all counts. At this point, the First Rays product line consists of a large array of chemical products (fertilizers, stimulants, pesticides, etc.), RO systems and parts, and lighting.
I tried to find someone to take over the entire semi-hydroponics business, but had no takers.
The LECA sold at theorchidhouse.org is pretty good.

Thanks Ray! I asked the orchidhouse what brand of LECA they are selling...I've never tried Semi Hydro before so I'm a bit nervous and paranoid I'll get the wrong pellets and kill my plants with the poor wicking property of the LECA.
I really enjoyed your webinar on Semi Hydro Ray! It seems logical that Orchids would do very well in LECA, but I'm surprised you've had good experiences with other types of plants.
I'm curious if they would work with the very small orchids and other smaller plants. I grow African Violets and some of them are only about half the size of the palm of my hand. It would seem that the tiny roots would have a hard time wrapping themselves around the large balls, as would seedlings.

They have no issue at all with the size of the medium particles. No matter what the size of the pellet, the plants are exposed to a wet clay substrate surrounded by air at maximum humidity. Root cells will grow well in that environment.
To your "other plants" comment, I really think that terrestrial plants take to S/H culture even easier than orchids, as they are less "niche" plants.

As far as Ray's video on S/H via AOS website, I can't get it to load - something about a flash upgrade required, which I performed, on TWO computers.
Is there any other source for this video?
Thank you!

I just checked. The video works fine. What operating system, version, browser, version, flash, version are you using?

Well, I don't know what to say. I'm using Flash 23.0.0.162 (just updated) on Opera, which is based on Chrome, in Windows 8.1, which should work similarly to Win 10. I can watch it.
