Default Hello! try a r.o. unit for you hard water types

Hello I have been growing orchid now for 7 years now! mostly miniature species, I use a water from my R.O. unit made by spectra pure. I highly reccommend using half tap water and half r.o. water, I have found the results to be awsome. Also for you tap water users, instead of waiting for the cholrine to go away by waiting 24 hrs. I use de cholr from my fresh water tank set up, 1 drop to a gallon works great!
thanks Clay

Hi, welcome to the board bonsai!
Have you ever mounted any miniatures on to your bonsai trees?

Hello Tin! you know thats funny that you say that. I have a orchid tree in my grow room. All you have to do in go in the wilderness and look for a canidate for your orchid tree. I used a felled ash tree. All you have to do is look for the size branch that fits your needs, notely with good branching at different node angles. I have 50 of my miniature orchids thriveing and in blooming on the braches. I just tie them on using a small pad of sphag. It has been two years now that I have done so, they took to it like a fly to dung. Once you found your branch of your choice, cut it at the base of the branch so that it will fit flat to a 2' X 2' piece of plywood, I used a 3/4" piece.

Converted over 100 plants to S/H Female

Thanks~~

I have put some of my dens in S/H & am waiting. I have started the S/H process for ~ 1 month or so & am waiting to see how everyone does.

I have noticed that the Paphs really like
it. I had a hard time keeping them moist enough.
