The compulsive ones among us doing s/h notice and worry about the green algae growth that can appear on the lower, outside walls of more clear pots. I think that the more opaque white pots have less of this, probably because of less light penetration. In some other threads there is good discussion about symbiotic organisms, including algae and fungi, that may aid orchid growth. Using physan and bleach to try and get rid of algae could then be suboptimal. We should perhaps be thankful for the algae and whatever products they might produce. As an experiment, I am going to stop trying to kill it and see what happens. Maybe I really want it.

I don't have to fight algae. I use clay pots for S/H.
