Default It`s growing!

hello everyone!

On march 25 th, i did my first home made flasking, following protocole I found on the net with baby jars and an agar base medium.

I flasked 3 jar with Dendrobium kingianum and 3 of Epidendrum pseudoepidendrum.
So far no mold.... This morning, while doing my daily inspection, I found tiny little green spot on the agr of 2 differents flasks ! My fisrt flask experience ! I`m sooo excited.......

No, I just have to wait a few years to see some nice results.....

The years fly by, and you got through the most important stage!
Where did you get the baby jars, and how did you do everything?
Can you post a step by step journal??
I tried this and was thwarted at the end because I had used jars that were not air tight.
Those seeds took their good long while to germinate huh.
CONGRATS!!

Hello!

I followed the instruction here:

http://www.orchideenvermehrung.at/cgi-local/framebreaker/reload.pl?english/nodes/in%20vitro/index.htm

And i used reguler baby foods jars, washed and sterilized in the oven for 30 minutes @ 350.

So far, so good !

PhalGuy, Very impressive! You are giving me the courage to try this some day myself. Right now, I'm just starting out with orchids, so I've got a lot to learn yet. But our society has a flasking group and I was thinking about checking it out. Good for you! Best of luck with this marvelous project you've undertaken....I'm envious...

Congrats! That is great. If you want to get more info check out the Orchid Seed Project. A manual costs $20 but it is worth every cent.
