I am definitely not an expert here.
I am going to take a guess that the adult plant is doing its normal life's regimen, the adult plants usually die after blooming, dunno just from what I have read. The new growth looks healthy and happy, so you are doing something right. Just my ![Two Cents](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/twocents.gif) worth.

Um... are you sure that's a Phrag? It looks more like a Paph to me.
Assuming it's a paph, I'd be a little concerned about it based on the first picture. The second picture shows a new growth.
How often do you water it? When was it last repotted?

Snow my thoughts as well possibly being a paph, but I have never bought a phrag so not familiar with there leaves. If your possibly thinking over-watering, not sure the new growth would look so healthy, dunno, just throwin' this one around.
Armin do you have a ![Photo](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/photo.gif) of the bloom?

Actually Cheryl, I was thinking the opposite - that it's not getting enough water. Look at the first picture closely. Doesn't the pot seem a little big for the size of the plant?
Armin, we still need to know what you do to take care of it. How much water, last repot, how much light, how much food, etc.

I need to chime in here cause I have a paph that looks identical to this one. I need to know the consensus here. On my yellowing part, new roots are barely visible but they are on the redish color.
Sorry, not hijacking....just hoping to learn also. ![Smile](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif)

Armin,
Nice looking bloom
Like any orchids paphs will bloom where they are mature and have the right conditions. Its good to see you have new growth comming along, the newer growth is very small and will take some time to bloom, probably another year in the right conditions.
I do agree with Snowden, this paph does look over potted and somewhat dried out. A quick check on the roots maybe what you need to look at, whether they are dried out or not taking up water becuz of possible root rot. It could be something as simple as not watering as it would like to be ![Smile](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif) Paphs do prefer to stay on the moist side.
It's normal for paphs to shed off the older growth once the newer growth has rooted itself and maturing.

Definitely needs repotted into smaller pot. I prefer plastic with paphs, holds a bit more moisture Check the roots at that time, and remove the dead brown and yellow old growths. Hopefully the brown leaf is just dead, and not infected with pythium rot. The plant (especially if the roots arent great) should be kept in a bit lower light to re-establish.
