First Oncidium Blooms
Here are the first two Oncidium I succeed getting them to bloom.
I bought them in flowers mars 2017. I knew there were easy ones. Oncidopsis (Vuylstekeara) Yokara 'Perfection' x oncidium leucochilum https://farm1.staticflickr.com/873/2...940fa68d_z.jpgIMG_8838 by chantrell99, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/872/4...7621c651_z.jpgIMG_8839 by chantrell99, on Flickr I’m unhappy with that a leave is turning yellow though  maybe not enough water recently ? I have a tendency to underwater as I am affraid of making these guys rot. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/873/4...1e1bb09e_z.jpgIMG_8863 by chantrell99, on Flickr Oncidium Ron's Rippling Delight https://farm1.staticflickr.com/807/4...bbe6f965_z.jpg IMG_8773 by chantrell99, on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/899/4...3c2fc795_z.jpgOncidium Ron's Rippling Delight_2018_03_F by chantrell99, on Flickr The plant is not that happy. I first grew it in SH but I gave up on it as I did not like it. It spiked when I switched it to an Oncidium small bark mix. I think it might enjoy a mix with some Sphaignum moss for more moisture, the bulbs are pretty shriveled ? Or at lease more watering. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/785/4...4015bffd_z.jpgOncidium Ron's Rippling Delight_2018_03P by chantrell99, on Flickr |
Very pretty. Yes, more water, a moss mix might be good. I use that for mine.

Very pretty, and they look great!
Judging by the position of the yellowing leaf, I think it's just normal leaf aging/shedding. |
That is the color of an old orchid leaf dying. The leaves do die, and fall off.
|
Congratulations on your success!:)
About the leaf...I agree it's just an old leaf. |
Lovely flowers! Nice growing!
