Den nano chip and den mini purple - winter rest or no??

Hi Everyone,

I just acquired a den. Nano chip and a den mini purple. I am not familiar with dens. Have phals, catts and one's...Do either of these need winter rest??
:D
Thanks so much!!

No. But, I do water less in the winter months.

Thank you so much Dollythehun! 😊

I give no water to my Dens during the middle 2mths of winter down here in NZ. This helps them to spike in the spring according to the current reading available.

Mine have had no rest and are already budding up. Maybe Indiana Den's weren't told they needed to rest?

Those Dens don't need a strong winter rest in terms of watering or temperature, so they'll do fine with reduced watering. It's ok for the canes to get slightly shriveled, but if it starts to become too pronounced I usually slightly increase the watering again.

Wouldn't that depend on the type of Den? Some do not need a dry winter rest at all (thinking of the Phal type Dens, and species such as Den victoriae-reginae and Den. aberrans) and reducing watering somewhat is all that is needed in the winter.

Micro chip is a Lautouria type, if I'm not mistaken. Everybody here gets watered less in the winter, because they aren't growing and don't dry out as quickly. We are saying the same thing.
