Miltonia
 

Here are two Miltonia crosses. The first one may be Miltonia Goodale Moir. The other one is unknown.

Pretty! I have never grown a Miltonia, mainly cool temp issues--too warm, so I always enjoy pics from others that grow them! I just am a windowsill grower.

The second one could be Miltonia x cogniauxiae or a remake of it. (spectabilis x regnellii)

Be sure of the names - most Miltonias, like the ones shown, are warm-growing plants. A very easy one is Miltonia spectabilis, possibly an ancestor of the second plant shown.

The cool growing pansy orchids were once also called Miltonia, but have been moved into genus Miltoniopsis. Many vendors still call them Miltonias. Miltoniopsis are not that easy unless you have a very cool house in summer.

so the one I got at trader joes should handle heat? I had it outside in the shade in a clay pot and hit handled over 100 degree temps. I was told it could handle the heat better outside.

I don't remember that plant. Can you point me to the thread? Most of the TJ Miltoniopsis here are labeled Miltonia. Those won't take much heat. If your nights cool down they will take it better, and I think your nights do cool down quite a bit.

during summer it would get maybe at low 65 or 70. it seems fine. it will come in soon. I thought I would loose it because the heat but seemed fine. it is now in s/h undoing fine outside.

Thanks for the name. Here such hybrids are often sold without tags.
