Very dehydrated oncidium, help?

I have a very dehydrated oncidium. It was that way when I repotted it about a week ago to try and help it. It was highly root bound and most of them were dead. I cleaned it up and had it in just water for 2 days while I was searching for a pot, and when I took it out of the water it had a few roots that were a lot greener. I repotted it in orchid bark but now I'm wondering if I should have just left it in the water. Wasn't sure if those do well in water culture though.
Any ideas to hydrate or on switching it to water?? Would be a big help

Those shriveled old pseudobulbs will probably never rehydrate to a significant extent, the accordion-pleated foliage will never straighten out, and the stunted growths will never reach full size. But if you have even a few healthy roots, good humidity and consistent water going forward the new growth will be plump and healthy. It is going to take a year or 2 for the plant to really look good again. Patience.

It does look like you have some new growth coming out that is not pleated, so I would guess that the dire situation has been remedied enough for you to be hopeful. Give it plenty of water and good culture and it should be fine, eventually.
