Cymbidium Katmantoo 'august avalanche' - virused?

Just wondering if any of you orchid gurus out there would be cautious of an orchid like this?

The tag on it is Cymbidium Katmantoo 'august avalanche' but when I google or look through orchid dictionaries, I cannot find a Cymbid named Katmantoo!

I'm thinking it might be virused as one of its flower stalk is rosette, color on petals seem to have color break, leaves mottled.

Thanks for your thoughts in advance!

I can't vote becuase I don't know what it would look like if it were virused. However there is something wrong, that I can see.

I also can't help you but one thing I know: cymbs are plant with ugly leaves, always stained and spotted with who knows what.
The flowers, in fact it seems something's wrong.

I understand that any plant cannot be confirmed virused unless it's tested. However it seems like we all can agree something is wrong here!

Any one with more experience able to shed more light though?

Hi Jkoff~
I checked the potting medium of this orchid and YOU WERE RIGHT!!! There is what seems to be snow mold growing - it's all white and fungusy.

It's not as easy to get our leaves tested here in Aus. I could send them to Tasmania but it will cost me the same amount I paid to buy the plant lol.

Could you give me some advice? Burn or treat with fungicide?

The rosette flower was not a sign of virus but was mere fasciation. Nonetheless viruses can remain dormant until an onset of a different plague, in this case the snow mold! I attached a photo of its new growth showing signs of cymb mosaic virus which was when I decided to bin it.

Mosaic Virus
very good link which talks about viruses

I would suspect an earlier fungal problem. Without testing the plant, it is impossible to tell from these photos. I would isolate it until you have a year of new growth. If there are white striations on the new leaves, striped or "M" shaped, the probability of virus is pretty much confirmed.
