Gomesa Radicans growth

I just repotted this little gomesa radicans on a flatter dish, because I saw a video on Youtube about them and the guy (The Irish guy with skulls in his greenhouse) said that their roots would die no matter what you put them in. Only the areal roots would survive. So anyway by potting them shallow, I maximized the potential areal roots while still having a somewhat water retaining medium. I am mainly wondering if this is a fast spreader or not?

Roots always did fine for me with frequent water in very open media. It grows like a weed if it is happy. Spreads fast, though big clumps tend to die out in the center. Watch this one for spider mites in low humidity.

Thanks! I like the grassy habit!
