Dendrobium Hibiki in s/h?

Hello,

I got a Dendrobium Hibiki today. I unpotted it out of coconut chips and the badly rotting spagh moss centre. No matter how much I was patient and tried my best (was at it for about 2 hours), I managed to break quite a few roots. It still has tits and bits of the medium attached. It is currently soaking in water diluted with fungicide and seaweed fertilizer.

Since the plant is producing new roots, will it be okay if I transfer it to a s/h system? Anyone has experience growing this type of orchid in s/h? Will the tits and bits of the medium, that I can't possibly remove without cutting of the entire root system, pose a problem?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

I have not personally grown any dendrobiums in S/H culture, but it is a fairly common thing for others.

The simple fact is that ANY plant CAN be grown that way, as long as the rest of the cultural conditions, when blended with the parameters S/H brings, meets the requirements of the plant.

In other words, someone else's success or failure with a particular plant has no bearing on yours.

If you think it's a good time to move the plant to S/H, I say go for it. My Hibiki is essentially in S/H with the media being wet wet nearly every day; I let it dry out from time to time. It does well, so I don't think you'll have any problems. :)
