Where to sell orchids?

:hello

I posted a thread similar to this one at the beginning of the year, but I'm currently at the point that my collection has become big enough that I now have lots of duplicates. I posted an ad in the classified section of Orchidboard and Craigslist and have received no inquires. Short of selling on eBay or selling them at my local orchid society, are there any other alternatives? I am leaving for a three week vacation on Sunday and would like to get these orchids off my hands as soon as possible. If anyone is interested, I'm located in the Davis/Sacramento area. Please check my OB ad for prices or send me a PM. Thanks!

There are some Facebook pages that have orchids for sale...or orchid groups on Facebook you could join that you can sell from.

Nextdoor.com if there are groups in your area might be something to look into

Good luck! I just find it easier to give them away than the hassle of selling them. :|

I do know that some of our Orchid Society members sell on Ebay.

If you have truly healthy and quality named plants, the best place to sell extra divisions is through your local orchid society at their annual sale, auction or at their meetings. You have a larger clientele at the club's annual sale.

If you try to sell to the general public, they:

A. Are used to the price level at Trader Joe & Home Depot.
B. Have no appreciation for the high quality clones you have to offer.

Your best options are the local orchid societies, and Ebay.

Packing and shipping orchids isn't that big of a deal.
