Large cattelaya
 

I was inspecting my large cat this morning and noticed , brown spot , possible rot moving its way up the base of a cane that had already bloomed , i squeezed it and juices came out of the brown spot , what would be recommended method of removal or sterilization ,also noticed white fluffy buildup in a few crevices ??. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Remove that entire growth and then spray the leaves and stems (not the roots) of the rest of the orchid with Isopropyl alcohol to kill the infection (it might spread otherwise). Spray twice a day for a few days and check your orchid over carefully to make certain this doesn't spread. There are also more effective ways to control this. I have added the link for you of a good site that you should find helpful.
I had problems with Calcium deficiency some years ago and experienced something similar to what you show here as well as new growths turning black...and brown rot. I lost quite a few orchids. However, now that I add extra calcium, I have not had any problems since.

One more thing that I also do when potting up the Cattleyas is to set all but the roots on top of the medium.

I think the white fluffy buildup is immature scale. It may just be the pictures but I think I see a few mature round ones near the base of the leaves.

The plant has been isolated. And thanks for the pdf very useful info ,

Entire canes and growth above medium but since its top heavy i may have to brace it up with stakes , i recently bought calmag , supplement hoping its not to late for this cat

No idea how long Cal-mag takes to be absorbed into the plant. I have never used it. My orchids are outside for the summer and so I add a little powdered milk to my watering can. I continually add eggshells to the pots (they need to decay to release the calcium, however, so it takes a while) and this gets the orchids through the rest of the year.
I use the alcohol at full strength (again, don't let it get on the roots as it will desiccate them). If you can get one of the products they recommend, I would begin using that as soon as possible. Until then, though, use the alcohol. This can move through an orchid really fast.
