Bought this lovely NoID phal at Trader Joe's yesterday and -SURPRISE- she's fragrant! I bought her for the sunset color motif.
Anyone seen this hybrid before? |
Oh so cute! What does she smell like? :)
|
sadly it will remain a noid, still its rare to get a scented one. nice :)

Great find! Yellow and fragrant is what I'd want too!

I've not seen that one but I found one this spring at Albersons that is much like it and it is fragrant as well. I wish I could say what it smells like. It keeps reminding me of something that I just can't put my finger on. Here's mine

Looks most like a Phalaenopsis Gold Tris 'Desk Pot'. Of course we'll never know for sure...
(see: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...-desk-pot.html http://www.orchidboard.com/community...am-aos&cat=507) Here's another picture: |

I have that hybrid! I saw it registered as something like lucky sunshine or pinky sunset or something... but I think it is a type of wholesale hybrid and we may not find the parentage of it. Mine wasn't fragrant, but perhaps next time it blooms it will be fragrant.
A friend of mine from youtube bought a mini phal that wasn't fragrant for its first bloom, then released a wonderful fragrance (and over 40 flowers) on the next bloom! So maybe mine will be smelly next time. I hope so! |
I saw that same NOID at my Trader Joes' last year, but not this year.
They were tiny little thing but the flowers were quite big compared to the size of the plant. They were scented, although not too strong. maybe the store was too cold or something. Enjoy~ |
